Our parish offers a wide variety of ministries to parishioners of all ages. Many are looking for volunteers to help out. Contact the parish office for more information on how to serve your fellow parishioners.

ADULT FAITH EDUCATION programs are available to help us increase knowledge of our faith through study and prayer. A parish subscribed website, described as Catholic Netflix, is available for FREE to all parishioners with 24/7 access to the best Catholic content in one place. Entertaining movies, enlightening programs, inspiring talks, and a great selection of popular e-books. Contact the parish office for our PARISH CODE. ADULT SERVERS assist the priest in preparing for mass. An individual is scheduled for a particular mass and ensures that everything is prepared for the celebration. S/he assists the Presider. Open to those 18 years and over.
 
ALTAR SERVERS assist the priest and Adult Server during Mass and special celebrations and is open to boys and girls age 10 and older.
 
The BAPTISM PREPARATION team assists parents and Godparents in preparing for the baptism of their child or Godchild by increasing their awareness of the sacramental gifts and symbols, the Baptismal rite, and their role in the faith development of the child.
 
CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE plans, develops and coordinates programs directed towards the individual and collective spiritual development of our members in support of parish, community, religious and charitable activities.
 
CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRY
We are here to create a space for the youth of the Parish to feel welcomed, a place for them to grow in their faith, create Catholic community and to ultimately, grow in a relationship with God. We offer a wide variety of programs for children 5 years of age up to 18 years of age. Please see the Youth Ministry page for more details about all the different programs.
 
CHILDREN’S CELEBRATION OF THE WORD is celebrated with children (ages 4-6) in a setting that parallels mass in important aspects such as a Gospel reading, homily with discussion, intercessions and an activity to reinforce the message. God’s Word is read, explained and discussed at their level. Children’s Celebration of the Word is held on most weekend masses, except during summer months and at the 6 pm Sunday mass.
 
CHURCH CLEANING/DUST ANGELS meet on Monday mornings to help with vacuuming, light dusting and cleaning of the Church.
 
COFFEE AFTER MASSES is provided by volunteers who help prepare and serve coffee after masses to encourage fellowship.
 
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION (EMHC) assist in distributing Holy Eucharist during mass. Open to those 18 years and over.
 
The FINANCE COUNCIL plans the annual budget and meets several times per year to discuss on-going parish finances.
 
FLORAL DESIGNERS arrange and maintain the floral enhancements to our worship space.
 
FOOD BANK collections are held throughout the year for the Edmonton Food Bank, including several “reverse” collections at Masses.
 
FUNERAL LUNCHES are served by volunteers following funeral Masses/Services.
 
The FUNERAL TEAM consists of Acolytes, Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors who have very flexible hours to help at funeral Masses. A Funeral Coordinator assists families in planning the funeral for their loved one. Funeral Planning Resources
 
GREETERS provide a friendly welcome, a smile and hello to all entering the church for the weekend Masses. This ministry is open to all parishioners, youth to seniors, individuals or families.
 
GROWTH IN THE SPIRIT PRAYER GROUP is an adult faith development group that, through weekly meetings, offers parishioners an opportunity to grow in the knowledge and experience of their faith, and offers opportunities for members to volunteer in parish and/or archdiocesan Catholic renewal events.
 
HEARTS UNITED seeks to promote and reinvigorate the practice of beautiful and longstanding Catholic devotions within our parish community. Under its umbrella, HEARTS UNITED brings together six parish ministries: Rosary Circles, the Rosary and Chaplet Lights, the Annual Consecration to Jesus through Mary, the First Friday Devotion, the First Saturday Devotion, and Special Marian Events (such as the Candlelight Rosary Event in October and the parish Novena to Mary Help of Christians in May). KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS is a Catholic, family, fraternal organization for men age 18 and over that provides members with the opportunity to grow spiritually through various activities, and to serve church and country.
 
The LADIES’AUXILIARY provides ladies of the parish with an opportunity to meet weekly to socialize, to give support to each other and to work on projects that will benefit the church and community locally, nationally and internationally.
 
LECTORS (Readers) proclaim the readings and intercessions at weekend Masses.
 
LEGION OF MARY members are actively engaged in the Lay Apostolate according to the needs of the parish and under direction of the Pastor. This Apostolate is under the patronage and guidance of the Holy Spirit and our Blessed Mother and, therefore, members strive to deepen our devotion to them.
 
The LITURGY COMMITTEE plans and coordinates all aspects of the parish liturgical celebrations so that they will be meaningful, uplifting, prayerful and visually and audibly appealing.
 
MAINTENANCE & GROUNDS volunteers assist in maintaining the church property (gardening, cutting grass, shoveling snow and general maintenance).
 
A MARRIAGE PREPARATION COURSE is offered by married couples to help engaged couples prepare for marriage. Completion of this course (or a similar one offered elsewhere in the archdiocese) is required by all couples being married at our parish.
 
MUSICIANS and CHOIR members help enrich all parish celebrations through music. This ministry is open to parishioners of all ages.
 
PASTORAL COUNCIL is comprised of parishioners representing a wide variety of ministries and the Pastor who meet monthly to discuss the pastoral life of the parish.
 
The RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (R.C.I.A.) team prepares those who are interested in joining the Catholic Church, or acting as sponsors or Catechists.
The RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (R.C.I.A.) ADAPTED FOR CHILDREN (aged 7-15 years) prepares those who have not been baptized or baptized as members of another Christian community and would like to join the Catholic Church.
 
SACRISTANS wash and dry all the Mass vessels, wipe the counters in the sacristy, and wash and iron Mass linens.
 
A SCRIPTURE STUDY (ADULT) group meets Wednesday mornings to further develop their faith life through study and prayer.
 
SICK & SHUT-INS volunteers visit and bring the Eucharist to those members of our community unable to attend Mass on a regular basis due to illness etc.
 
The SOCIAL JUSTICE/HABITAT FOR HUMANITY group educates the parish on social issues and advises on how to respond to these and coordinate action plans. The Habitat for Humanity Project is a special project Social Justice is supporting along with the parishes of St. Agnes and St. Anthony.
 
Members of the ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY combine personal spiritual growth with active charity to the less fortunate, including home visiting.
 
USHERS informally welcome people into the church building before Mass, assist them in finding a seat if the church is crowded, take up the collection, choose people to bring up the gifts, tidy up the church in preparation for the next Mass, etc. For men and women, 16 and over.
 
YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY – Just out of high school, or navigating the work, life, faith balance in the working world – we know it isn’t easy, which is why were creating spaces and opportunities to grow in your faith, in community and in social service! WEDDING REHEARSAL TEAM members guide engaged couples, friends and families through the wedding ceremony. They also attend the actual wedding, helping where needed, or just being a friendly face.
