Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) for Inquirers

RCIA is the ministry responsible for accompanying and initiating those wishing to be in full communion with the Catholic Church.
Commitment Level: Inquirers (those wishing to be in full communion with the Catholic Church) attend sessions Tuesday evenings and Sunday mass weekly.
 

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) – Volunteers

RCIA is the ministry responsible for accompanying and initiating those wishing to be in full communion with the Catholic Church. There are a variety of roles for RCIA volunteers such as sponsor, catechist and dismissal minister. Please talk to Fr. Mark or another RCIA volunteer to learn more about each of these roles.
Commitment Level: Volunteer roles vary in time commitment depending on availability and need.
Training: Little to no training is required.
 

Baptism Volunteers

Volunteers can help with any of the following: set up and assisting during infant and children’s baptism ceremonies, including being a proxy or Godparent at times; monthly upkeep of the baptismal wall with children’s photos; volunteers with a catechesis background may also help deliver baptism preparation classes; volunteers with artistic skills may help making brochures and other baptism promotional items.

For helping with Baptisms: 1-3 pm on a Sunday of your choice from our schedule. Baptism are one or twice per month. Volunteers can sign up based on their availability.  
Baptismal wall: Flexible schedule, anytime during office hours.
Children Baptism Preparation: Two cycles per school year, 2-3 hours per cycle.
Training: A one-hour orientation. New volunteers shadow experienced Baptism volunteers to begin. Volunteers work as a team and not alone. 
 

First Reconciliation Volunteers

Assist Ministry Coordinator in a variety of roles, such as facilitate with registration, sacramental preparation lessons and on the day that children receive their First Reconciliation.

First Eucharist Volunteers

Assist Ministry Coordinator in a variety of roles, such as facilitate with registration, sacramental preparation lessons and on the day that children receive their First Eucharist.
 

Confirmation Volunteers

Assist Ministry Coordinator in a variety of roles, such as facilitate with registration, sacramental preparation lessons and on the day that youth celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation.
 

Children’s Liturgy Leader

Children’s Liturgy volunteers lead children through prayer and activities during mass. Lesson plans and activity sheets are prepared and ready for volunteers. Children Liturgy leaders are always paired with a partner. 
Commitment Level: Once a month during your preferred weekend mass.
Training: New volunteers are paired with experienced leaders for training and mentorship.
