Stewardship and Building Maintenance
Commitment Level: This committee meets about 2 to 3 times a year. Depending on circumstances meetings may be called more frequently. The Maintenance Chair (or delegate) reports to the Parish Finance Council at their regular meetings (3 to 5 times a year).
Parish Finance Council
The Finance Council is an advisory group to the Pastor on matters relating to the finances of the parish. Interested parishioners are invited to provide a brief summary of their interest and experience to be considered for appointment by the Pastor to this ministry. The primary responsibility of the PFC is to help in the preparation on the parish’s annual budget and to review the interim financial statements of the parish.
We work closely with the Business Coordinator in reviewing the monthly financial statements and providing analysis and questions directed to maintaining and sustaining parish operations consistent with our parish mission and goals. We also recommend to the pastor the financial and related information that should be reported to the parishioners.
We ensure the policies and guidelines of the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton are followed such as approvals on spending limits, capital expenditures and special projects.
Stewardship Committee
Commitment Level: Meetings have not been scheduled and will be set by the pastor once the committee is structured.
Personnel Committee
This committee provides advice and oversight to the pastor and parish team on the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton (CAE) Human Resources policies as they relate to our parish staff. Interested parishioners are invited to provide a brief summary of their interest and experience to be considered for appointment by the Pastor to this ministry. Included in this oversight is ensuring we have: job descriptions for all staff; a regular performance review process; annual wage reviews consistent with CAE guidelines. The Personnel Committee assists in the interview process when hiring non-pastoral staff.
Counting Ministry
Commitment Level: Working in teams of four, each team holds responsibility for counting one to two months each year. Each team of four people counts for four or five consecutive Sundays usually starting after the 10am Mass and running to approximately 1:15 pm. This is about 2 hours a week during one, sometimes two months of the year.
Training: On-the-job-training is offered for the first week of each month. An experienced counter and office support is always available to the team.
Dust Angels
Commitment Level: Tuesday mornings. Start time is between 7 and 7:30 am and ends at 9:00 or shortly after depending on the number of workers. After cleaning, Dust Angels pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and a decade of the Rosary for the people of Ukraine together and socialize with coffee and goodies.
