Young Adult Ministry (Friends of Frassati)

Welcome to Friends of Frassati! We are a Young Adult Ministry based out of St. Thomas More that meets twice a month. We take the joyful and authentic Catholic lifestyle of Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati as our model as we all strive to grow in holiness and community. 
 
Saint Frassati was a man who loved God, loved his community, and loved the outdoors. We are going to be striving to do the same and so mark your calendars for February 19th-22nd, where we will be gathering to embark on a mountain retreat. stay tuned for more info on how to join!
 
We are aiming to run two events per month:
 
The first event of each month will take place at St. Thomas More and will be catechetical/ prayer/ worship focused. Some things to look forward to are: adoration with praise and worship, evening prayer, collaborative events with other young adult groups, and Oilers watch parties of course!
 
The second event of each month is going to be outside of the parish and in the broader community. One of my favorite stories of Frassati is how he would go into pool halls and place bets with his friends, where if he won, his friends had to join him for adoration/mass. For us, this will include things like going to Blocs for rock climbing, Activate, going downtown to give food to the poor, out for supper or a theology on tap style event, and when we are able, hikes and adventures in the wilderness!
 
The goal is that this can help us to grow in community and live our faith in an authentic and integrated way!​

Catholic Young Adults of Edmonton (C-YEG)

 
There is a great need for catholic community amongst young adults all across Edmonton.
Which is why C-YEG was born. The Catholic Young Adults of Edmonton (C-YEG for short) promote events in and around the city for those who are thirsting for a faith community in the Church! C-YEG was born out of a great desire to have a citywide space for young adults to gather. We come from all over, grow in faith together through fellowship and experience who Jesus says we are and calls us to be. We then go back to our communities, stronger and with a greater purpose in our lives. Young adults need community – and you are invited to join!

World Youth Day

Fr. Mark and St. Thomas More coordinators took 50 pilgrims to WYD Lisbon 2023. Pilgrims have been transformed from this world-wide Catholic event, having experienced the Universal Church and encountering Jesus. They are excited to share their pilgrimage and reflections with others. Stay tuned for more information.
